Garry Dean Nail

June 23, 1961 ~ November 16, 2021 (age 60)

Obituary

Garry Dean Nail of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away from this life on November 16, 2021, at the age of 60. Garry was born in McAlester, Oklahoma, to James Paul Nail and Susie Nail (Deweese) on June 23, 1961. Garry was a talented small engine repairman.

Garry was an incredibly opinionated, family-centric, life-of-the-party who enjoyed having a good time. He enjoyed pro wrestling and loved going out to sing karaoke. He wasn’t the best dancer, but that never stopped Garry from showing off his signature moves at any opportunity. He was strong and tough, constantly lifting weights, and he was up for a good arm-wrestling match pretty much anytime he was challenged. This “proud hoarder” loved collecting a wide range of things over the years. He also enjoyed watching Bruce Lee movies and pro wrestling, as well as going fishing for catfish whenever he had the chance. A proud Choctaw, he was incredibly proud of his Native American roots.

He could be stubborn, and according to his loving family, Garry was an asshole, but he was “their asshole”. He was protective with a generous heart. He was known to help anyone who needed it, whenever they needed it - unless it came to chores, in which case Garry was a “Honey-Don’t”. More than anything in life, Garry loved and adored his family. His grandkids were his entire world, and he wanted to spend all his free time with them. Garry leaves behind a loving family, and troops of friends. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his mom and dad, Susie and James Paul Nail, a son, Allan Nail, his twin sister, Sherry Wilkerson, a sister-in-law, Carrie Nail, and two nephews, Danny Wilkerson and James Eugene Williams.

Garry is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Cindy Nail; his children, son Charles Nail and spouse Amanda Booth, and daughters Marketta Nail and spouse Robert Cowan, and Lacressa Nail and spouse Quinnon Kelley; twelve brothers and sisters; fifteen grandchildren; as well as many other family members and friends.
