Frederick Linden Werner passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on August 18th, 2023, at the age of 80. Fred was preceded in death by his parents Donna and Wilbert Werner, and his brothers David and Jay. Fred is survived by his loving wife Allison Werner, his sister Priscilla Pigg, his three children, Chris Werner, Tamera Spaulding, and Shawnda Mendoza, his 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear church family and friends.
Fred grew up in southeast Oklahoma City milking the cows, feeding the chickens, and finding adventures at every corner. He graduated from Southeast High School and then embarked on a fulfilling career as a transmission specialist for automobile dealerships. He finished his career at OG&E as a Transportation Supervisor retiring in 1993. Fred taught his grandchildren that as a supervisor, you never ask someone to do something you aren’t willing to do yourself and he lived that out as a servant leader throughout his career.
An open-hearted host, Fred welcomed countless individuals into his home, creating cherished memories through dinners, lake trips, and many adventures. His legacy also extended beyond the home, as he devoted years to prison ministry, lending his voice to various church choirs, and selflessly served whenever there was a need.
Fred's ornery humor, unwavering spirit, and unique charm will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Fred journeyed peacefully to his heavenly home, with his beloved wife Lisa by his side. Fred left behind a legacy of love, laughter, and enduring memories and will be missed by many who considered him family.
A funeral in celebration of his life will be held on Thursday August 23, 2023 at 12pm Noon at First Baptist Church Moore 27th and I-35. Friends, family, and all whose lives were touched by Fred are invited to join in remembering and celebrating a life well-lived.
