Frances Irene McCurley

Frances Irene McCurley of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away from this life on October 8, 2021 at the age of 87. Frances was born in Joshua, Texas to Winn Washington Mobley and Jennie Marie Mobley (Schwartz) on April 1, 1934. After graduating from high school, Fran attended Oklahoma State University. She had a varied work life and held positions at several companies throughout her professional career, including Southwestern Bell, Southern Oklahoma Mental Health Center in Sulphur, and Mary Kay Cosmetics, where she received accolades for her excellent sales record and other accomplishments.

Fran was a warmhearted soul who loved to stay busy. She spent her entire life working, and she was a member of many reputable organizations and clubs during her lifetime, selflessly volunteering her time to help others. She loved to paint and sew, and Fran sold many works of art during her time with the Sulphur Art Club. Her warm, caring heart will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all the people Fran impacted in her life.

Frances was preceded in death by her mother and father, Jennie Marie Mobley (Schwartz) and Winn Washington Mobley as well as several other family members, including Kathrynn Sorrels (Mobley), Bill Sorrels, Louis Ferrando, Winn Wesley Mobley, Willie Wickware, Jennie Weta Winters (Mobley), Samuel (Pat) Winters, Minnie Louise Mobley-deceased as a small child, Mary Lucas (Mobley), Gorden Lucas, Charles Mobley, Buelah Doris Mobley, Fannie Jo Harris, Bruce Wayne Mann, and James McCurley.

She is survived by her son, Steven Bruce Mann and daughter-in-law Brenda Mann; granddaughters Stephanie Sturch and husband John, Jennifer Brown and husband Josh, and Carrie Voden and spouse Gerre; and great-grandchildren Jaelyn Brown, Hunter Brown, Kadie Voden, and LilyAnn Voden; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.

Memorial services will begin at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home & Chapel, located at 120 South Broadway Avenue in Moore, Oklahoma.
