F. Elizabeth “Liz” Williams, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, passed from this life on March 19, 2023, at the age of 90. She was born July 26, 1932, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to Ethridge Arthur & Birdie Ellen (Treat) Kisor. Liz was a member of Moore Baptist Church, formerly Eastern Avenue Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, crafting, and baking. She was also good at needlepoint. Liz enjoyed going on road trips, as she loved seeing the countryside. She was an Oklahoma State Cowboys fan, where her son, Ted graduated from. Liz also enjoyed listening to the radio. She grew up in the Shawnee and Dale community. Liz attended high school in Dale, where she was a graduate of Dale High School. She was employed at Montgomery Wards at Penn Square Mall and then moved to the Crossroads Mall location. Liz was an invoice and payroll clerk and retired after 20 years of service. She was feisty and she was a kind and loving person with a caring heart. Liz enjoyed teaching her grandchildren how to cook, cross stitch and make crafts. She was a hard worker and wonderful homemaker and always provided for her family. One of Liz’s quality traits was that she was a straight shooter – you always knew where she stood on issues. Liz and Ed enjoyed traveling, square dancing, bowling and they were very dedicated to their church. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend. Her first love was her Lord and Savior and being with her husband, Ed, the love of her life for 73 years. Liz loved spending time with her family, especially with all her grandchildren. Liz touched the lives of her family, friends, church members, caregivers, and nursing staff, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Edward L. “Ed” Williams, of the home; 1 daughter, Judith Williams-Murphy & husband, Bob, of Centennial, Colorado; 1 son, Ted Williams & wife, Mary, of Hockley, Texas; 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 1 brother, Kenneth Kisor, of Shawnee, Oklahoma.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ethridge & Birdie Kisor; 5 brothers, Earl, Jack, Tom, Troy, and Don; 1 sister, Ellen.
Visitation will be held from 10:00am-8:00pm, Thursday, March 23, 2023, at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home, located at 120 South Broadway, in Moore, Oklahoma.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, March 24, 2023, at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, with interment following at Jones IOOF Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel.
