Elgin James Smith
August 30, 1941 – February 17, 2021
At the age of 79, Elgin, son of Marlin and Edith Smith, went to be with the Lord in his new home. He passed away peaceably in his home in Moore, OK.
Preceded in death by his parents, Marlin Ezra Smith and Edith (Porter) Smith; a brother, Bobby Smith; and grandson, James Wesley Smith.
He is survived by a brother, Orlin Smith, and wife, Lane, of Sherman, TX; sisters, Joyce Dultmeier and husband, Maurice, of Topeka, KS, and Carol Thomas and husband, Larry, of Newalla; wife, Lorene, of the home; daughters, Diana Lorene Yesko, of Alexandria, LA, and Amy Denise Smith, of Midwest City; son, James Allan Smith, and wife, Sandra, of Moore; grandchildren, Nickolas John Yesko, of Alexandria, LA, Nathan Mathew Mancil Yesko, of Abilene, TX, Brittney Casandra Smith, of Moore; great-grandchildren, Nicklos John Yesko Jr., of Alexandria, LA, Madeline Estelle Yesko, of Alexandria, LA, and Reagan Rylen Smith, of Moore.
Elgin retired as a drafting engineer at Star Mfg. He loved the Lord and was a member of Regency Park Baptist Church. First and foremost, he loved his family and they were the most important thing in his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 8:30 PM, Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, located at 120 South Broadway, in Moore, OK. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at Regency Park Baptist Church, 2001 N. Janeway Ave., Moore, with interment following at Moore Cemetery, 800 S. 4th Street, Moore, OK. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel.
