Edith Christine James, 65 of Tuttle passed away on May 30, 2021. She was born on November 16, 1955 in Winfield, Kansas to Esther Rosetta Bailey and Roy Sanford Killman. Edith grew up in the Chickasha area and was a Homemaker for most of her working career.
Mrs. James had a giving heart and was a caring, nurturing person to her core. Edith was known to be outspoken and unafraid to express her opinion – you always knew where she stood on the issues, and if she liked you, you definitely knew it. She adored cooking and everyone looked forward to dining at Edi’s house. Some of her best dishes included her guiso, her amazing vermicelli, and her famous German chocolate cake. She was a big OU Sooners fan and loved being outside. She spent a lot of time going fishing out at the lake and tending to her gardens. Edith enjoyed listening to music and was partial to the Motown classics. She always looked forward to watching a good scary movie and loved westerns, especially John Wayne movies. Her greatest loves were her lord and savior Jesus Christ and her late husband Allen, the love of her life for over 32 years. Her favorite thing in this world was spending time with her children and multitude of grandchildren. Edith was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Allen James II. She is survived by four children; a daughter, Angela Prall and her husband Eric, as well as three sons, Bryan James and wife Trenette of Celina, Texas, Allen James III and wife Debbie of Bridge Creek, as well as Tommy James and wife Tracy Williams, also of Bridge Creek. Mrs. James is also survived by a brother, Bobby Killman of Fort Cobb, 18 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
