Dustin Gober Obituary

Dustin Lee Gober, age 30 of Noble, left this world far too soon on July 10, 2021. Dustin, affectionately known as “Dusty” to his many, many friends, was born on October 29, 1990 to Marvin Lee Gober and Gina Ella O’Bryant. Dustin attended Norman High School and was later employed as a support staff member at Dillard’s and the upscale department store Von Maur in Oklahoma City.

From the time he was a little boy, Dusty was a kind, genuine, creative soul. As a youngster, he loved comic books, Power Rangers and Transformers. As he grew up, he became a very talented and passionate artist, using his love of comics to write short stories and graphic novels.

He loved listening to music to help spark his creativity, and in Dustin’s opinion, the heavier it sounded, the better. He was a big fan of Nu-Metal classics like Korn, Slipknot, and Linkin Park. He liked to spend his downtime either playing video games or building models, and his favorite TV show was Rescue Me featuring comedian Denis Leary. He loved to watch shows that were both funny and deep.

Dusty was laid-back and easygoing. He was funny, and from the time he was very little, he was a natural comedian – he could always make everyone laugh. He was kind, loving, thoughtful, goofy and made many funny faces. He always had a sweet, genuine smile on his face. He would help anyone in need, anytime they needed it. He especially enjoyed Fishing, shooting guns and helping his dad in the yard with the mowing and weed-eating. He loved his family very much, and any time they could all get together and have a cookout, Dusty was a happy man. He was a loving son, brother, grandson, uncle, and friend. He positively impacted the hearts of all those who knew and loved him, and he will be deeply and forever missed.

Dustin is survived by his loving parents, Marvin and Allison Gober of Noble, and Gina O’Bryant of Norman; two sisters, Shayla Green and Kalee Gober, both of Norman; grandmother Charlie O’Bryant; niece Lexi Huff; nephew Bradley Gober; his girlfriend, Mariah Kessinger; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
