Doyle Fannon Obituary

Doyle Patrick Fannon (Bud, Buddy) passed away peacefully and surrounded by
family in Norman, Oklahoma on May 28 th , 2021. Doyle was born in Berlin
Oklahoma on March 17, 1936 to Earl Edison Fannon and Willie Mae (Saxton)
Fannon. After working the family farm he graduated from Berlin High School in
1954. Doyle went on to graduate from the Texas Tech School of Agriculture in
1959. After college he joined the Army Reserves. After years in the dairy industry
in Oklahoma and Texas, Doyle retired from Hiland Dairy in Norman in 1998.
Doyle married the love of his life Connie Turner on April 2 nd , 1993. After
retirement, they built a lakeside home in Gainesville, Texas where, with the help
of Connie and their dogs Bubba Joe and Cody Joe, Doyle would pursue his lifelong
hobby of fishing. Before retirement, Doyle caught and prepared fish for employee
parties, and Doyle’s love of fishing took him and Connie to lakes across North
America, including Canada and Mexico. Doyle also enjoyed wood and leather
work, often giving handmade gifts to his children and grandchildren.
Doyle was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert (Bob) Fannon,
sister Earlene Halford and brother in law Lafayette. He is survived by his wife of
28 years Connie Fannon, sister Joyce Nelson of Owasso and sister Kay Woods of
Noble, son Mike Fannon, son Mark Fannon, daughter Melanie Weeden and
husband Douglas of Corpus Christi, TX, son Chad Turner and wife Angie of
Mustang, OK, daughter Christy Stokes and husband Fred of Bridge Creek, OK, 10
grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Doyle attended Cornerstone Baptist Church in Moore, Oklahoma. A celebration
of life will be held at Cornerstone Baptist Church at 424 East Main in Moore, OK,
on Saturday June 12 th at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations
be made to the American Heart Association.
