Doris Ellen (Echols) Brown-Jones

Doris Ellen Echols Brown Jones was called to her eternal resting place on June 29, 2022, at the age of 85. She was born on March 27, 1937, to Carl and Emma Echols. She was raised and continued to live in Oklahoma City where she lived a very fulfilling life. Her children were the center of her life, as evidenced by her unending, kind, and loving ways.

Doris was married to Cliff Jones for 32 years until his death in 2019, and to Kenneth Brown for 33 years prior. She worked for the government for 38 years before retiring at the age of 58.

Doris was a Christian her entire life and was proud of her continued, practicing faith. We find peace in knowing her soul is with our Lord Jesus Christ and she is whole again.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Bowles, and son Kenneth Steven Brown and wife Brenda; sisters Norma Jean Smythe and husband Jerry, and Alice Rowls. Doris had three grandchildren: Nathan Sturdivant, Amber Mayfield, and Candy Brown; 8 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren; and many loved nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Preceding her in death were her husband Cliff Jones, sister Ruth (Tootsie) Trammel, sister Marie Hall, and brother Carl (Buddy) Echols.

Graveside services are at 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Resthaven Memorial Gardens on SW 104th St. and S. Western Ave. in Oklahoma City.
