Donita Walton Obituary

Donita Charlene Walton, age 68, died of cancer on September 20, 2020, in Moore, Oklahoma. She is survived by her husband Harry, a daughter Deborah Bunch and son Jeff Splawn and their spouses, Greg Bunch and Vicki Splawn; grandchildren Luke and Sherie Viles, Gabriel Moore and Abbey Bunch, Ethan Bunch, Kamdyn Splawn and Noah Bunch; step father Jim Lesli; two sisters Maxine Rogers and her husband Eddie Rogers and Janetta Smith and many nieces and nephewsShe is preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Beverly Logan, her brother Freddie Oliver and many other family and friends. Donita was born on February 1, 1952 in Beaver City, Nebraska, to parents Don Oliver and Jean Leslie. She graduated from Oklahoma City Community College in Oklahoma City, Ok with a degree in Elementary Education. In 2003, she accepted a position as a Special Education Paraprofessional at Crooked Oak Public Schools, where she worked for more than 17 years. Donita was a loving mother who was devoted to her children and grandchildren. She married Harry Walton in 1970 and they divorced in 1974. After 20 years, Donita and Harry reconnected and remarried December 20, 1995, where he stayed by her side for the remainder of her life. Donita said in her final days that the grass was greener on the first side. Donita showed her love for Jesus by helping anyone she could and her positive outlook on life. Donita was a “Nana” to many children she taught at Crooked Oak Public schools and Deb’s Little Darlin’s Daycare. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports or any extracurricular activities. Her family and friends will always remember her as a selfless, compassionate person who always had a smile on her face no matter what she was going through. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service is scheduled for Donita Walton on September 26, 2020, at 2:00 pm at Capitol Hill Assembly of God Church in Oklahoma City, Ok. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Donita’s life. The family would like to thank those that brought food and for all the words of encouragement and condolences.
