She loved and trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ and was devoted to her beloved husband of 64 years, John. Her love extended to her sons, her extended family, and her many friends, as well as her lifelong passion for painting, golf, and bowling.
While attending high school, Deloras worked as a ticket seller at the movie theater. She then attended school, becoming a beautician. She specialized in hair until 1970, at which time she returned to her one true love – art. Deloras was a talented artist and painter, and before judging art shows all over, her own art was featured in many shows and galleries across the state.
After retirement, Deloras and John retired to Lake Eufaula where they adjusted to the slower pace of life down there. She became involved in a small Baptist church there, where she made many friends. Deloras and John were members of “The Breakfast Club”, a group of friends who had breakfast together every morning.
In the final chapter in this life, when declining health required that they leave their beloved Eufaula and friends there, they discovered another family in their Sunday school class and congregation right here at First Moore Baptist Church. She met beautiful people with open arms who showed so much love for them.
Memorial services for Deloras will be at 11:00am on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at First Moore Baptist Church, located at 301 NE 27th St. Moore, OK, 73160. Services are under the direction and care of John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home & Chapel.
