Debra (Debbie) Ann Neidel, 68, of Moore, died March 18, 2023, at her home in Moore, Oklahoma. She was born on February 16,1955, to Joe Dickson and Anna Mai Dickson in Oklahoma City.
Debbie was an enthusiastic animal lover, rescuing, loving, and giving a wonderful home to many cats and dogs over the years. Animals were drawn to her just as much as she was drawn to them. She loved to read books of all kinds especially James Patterson and John Grisham. She enjoyed watching old shows and movies such as Perry Mason, Mannix, and Adam 12, etc. She was such a loving and giving person. Debbie will be greatly missed, and we all will feel this loss immensely.
Debbie worked as a Certified Medical Transcriptionist. She earned the designation of AAMT fellow (FAAMT) as established by the board of direction of the American Association of Medical Transcription for 28 years and retired from Integris Health in 2017.
Debbie is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Robert (Mike) Neidel of the home, 3 children, Justin Neidel and wife Tracy of Tuttle, Lori Neidel of Moore, and Melissa Wilson and husband Mark of Stidham. She is survived by 8 grandchildren Wesley Moses-Neidel, Braydon Neidel, Patrick Neidel, Andrew and Eric Browning, Madison Neidel, Olivia Burris, and Christian Neidel and 5 great grandchildren Braxton Neidel, Asher Browning, Kysen, Laiklyn, and Kamden Neidel, as well as her Golden Retriever, Gracie May, and cat Buddy. She is also survived by brothers Steven Dickson of Norman, Tom Ferguson, and wife Sheila of El Reno and John Ferguson and wife Merrilyn of Oklahoma City. Aunt Betty Campbell and husband Bill of Villa Park, California and Uncle Billy McCoy and wife Mary of Oklahoma City. She also had many nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her mom Anna Ferguson, dad Joe Dickson, stepdad, Robert Ferguson Sr., uncles Adrian McCoy Jr, Paul McCoy, and James McCoy, brother Robert A Ferguson Jr. and sisters Janice Ferguson Wackerly and Virginia Sue Ferguson McCurdy. She was also preceded in death by many of her beloved animals throughout the years.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 22, 2023 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and Thursday, March 23, 2023 from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm, with the family receiving guests for a formal visitation from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, located at 120 South Broadway, in Moore, Oklahoma. Funeral Services for Debbie will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, March 24, 2023, at the Lynlee Mae Chapel, located at 507 E. Main Street in Moore, Oklahoma. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 2301 E. Indian Hills Rd., in Norman, Oklahoma.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Second Chance Animal Rescue or ASPCA.
Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel.
