David Lee Moore

David Lee Moore of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away from this life on June 12, 2022, at the age of 66. He was born in Sterling, Oklahoma, to Jacob Malcolm Moore and Margaret Helen (Bailey) Moore on March 30, 1956.

David was a simple man who preferred living a simple life. After losing both of his parents at a young age, he learned to be humble, self-reliant, and independent. He had a lifelong career as a wrecker driver, owning and operating his own successful wrecking company. He was also a welder with a Certified Radiography stamp, working for Tulsa-based company Terex for a number of years.

He loved racecars and watched NASCAR races often, always cheering loudly for his favorite driver, Kyle Busch. He enjoyed watching Thunder basketball, old western movies, and listening to his police scanner. He was a wonderful dad to his children, and when they were younger, David loved playing air guitar with them, even starting two “air bands” while his kids were growing up. When his grandkids came along, he adored them too. This loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend touched the hearts of many, and he will be dearly missed.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Moore, his father, Jacob Moore, a son, David Alan Moore, a sister, Billie “BB” Sue Henderson, and his dog, Thunder.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his best friend, Tina Moore; his children, son Michael Moore, and daughters Rachelle Moore, and Bethany Moore; two sisters, Mary Ballard and husband R.D., and Linda Fletcher and husband Leon; along with his grandchildren, Zakkary, Peyton, Bryson, Paizley, Brielle, Adilynn, Alysia, Bryanna, Kayla, and Tyler.

Visitation will be held from 12:00pm through 8:30pm on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at the John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home & Chapel, located at 120 S. Broadway Avenue in Moore, Oklahoma.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00am on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Life Church South, located at 7800 S. Walker Ave. in Oklahoma City.
