David C. Credell, age 76 of Norman, Oklahoma passed away on August 31, 2021. He was born on March 24, 1945 in Hollis, Oklahoma to Grover C. Credell and Patricia Kelly.
CW4 David C. Credell (Chuck) enlisted into the Oklahoma Army National Guard (OKARNG) on 13 December 1964. He served as a unit supply clerk in HHD 700 SPT BN for over 17 years. He eventually became a Chief Warrant Officer Two (CW2) on March 18, 1982. He was transferred to HQ OKARNG (-) 45th Troop Command and served as a supply technician before being transferred to HQ State Area Command (HQ STARC) OKARNG. Chief Credell served as a Food Service technician for over three years before becoming the Property Accountability technician at the USPFO Supply & Service Property Management Branch, where he eventually retired on March 08, 1996 with over 31 years of honorable military service.
During his career, Chief Credell mentored many soldiers and encouraged them to become warrant officers. He attended various schools throughout his life, and because of his expansive education, his knowledge in all areas of logistics helped to improve the readiness in the OKARNG for many of years with focuses in the supply, food service, and maintenance areas of operation. Chief Credell's awards consist of the National Defense Service Medal (NDSM), the Meritorious Service Medal (MSM), the Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal (ARCAM -5th award), the Army Commendation Medal (ARCOM), as well as various state awards.
A memorial graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 10, 2021 at the Sunset Memorial Park Chapel, located at 2301 East Indian Hills Road in Norman, Oklahoma.
