Darin Loyd McCoy, age 58 of Norman, passed away from this life to begin his eternal life in Heaven on November 15, 2021. Darin was born in Oklahoma City on March 13, 1963, to Forrest Wesley McCoy and Ramona Anne Neal. Darin enjoyed a successful career as a Photographer for CMI for over 20 years. He then owned and operated his family business, McCoy Painting & Remodel.
Darin was a hard worker and an avid outdoorsman, and anywhere there was water, you’d likely find him there fishing. He loved to hunt and fish and saw these things as a way of life. When he was younger, Darin was a professional photographer and took many beautiful photos during that period in his life. He was fashionably – and noticeably – late to everything. He loved to give advice and teach life lessons, whether you wanted it or not. His moral gauge was always spot on, and he always did the right thing. His family describes him as having “the most forgiving soul”. Darin absolutely loved people, and he never said a bad word about anyone. He loved God, and his faith was incredibly important to him.
More than anything, Darin loved spending time with his family. Family night was very important to him. Their game nights always included coffee, great conversation, and lots of laughs. Darin took any opportunity to get the family together, and he enjoyed hosting fish fries and cookouts at least once every two weeks.
This loving family man, husband, Dad, son, Papa, and brother, leaves behind many loving family members and friends. Darin touched the lives of many, many people, and he will be deeply and forever missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Forrest McCoy. Darin is survived by many loving family members, including his loving wife of 33 years, Tracie; six children, Dustin and wife Brooke, Dillon, Tyler, Emily, Skylar, and Jacob; his grandchildren, Alivia, Carolyn, Daxton, and Evelyn; his mother, Ramona Neal and her husband Monroe; and his siblings, sister Laree McGuire and husband Michael, brother Kevin McCoy, and sister Christi Kliewer.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM through 6:00 PM on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at the John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home & Chapel, located at 120 South Broadway Avenue in Moore, Oklahoma.
