Danny Pigg Obituary

Danny Ray Pigg was born in Washington D.C on August 29th, 1943, to Ray Pigg and Gypsy Farrar Pigg. As a young child when his dad got out of the Army, they relocated to Lubbock, Texas where he was raised. Being an only child, he was raised in a close family where his cousins are like siblings to him. On September 22, 1961, Danny joined the Navy but, after completing basic training, he received an honorable discharge and returned to Lubbock. In 1963, he married Mary McKinney and had two children, Carey Scott Pigg and Christie Renee Pigg. The marriage ended in divorce and Danny moved to Oklahoma in 1972. On February 16, 1973, he married Shirley Driskell McCutchan and became the father to her four children.

Danny worked at several different jobs but always loved truck driving. He drove a truck for 40 years and was proud of the fact that he had been in all the lower 48 states, along with Canada and Mexico.

Danny became a member of New Life United Methodist church in 1977 and loved his church and his church family.

Danny’s favorite activities were watching old (mostly western) movies and attending the grandchildren’s school and sports events. He also loved doing woodwork, playing dominoes and cards while visiting with his many friends.

Besides his parents, Danny was proceeded in death by his daughter Christie Miller and his son Chuck McCutchan.

Danny is survived by his wife, Shirley Driskell Pigg, his children, Scott Gatzert (Judy), Rob McCutchan (Brandi) Kellye Jones (Rich), Todd McCutchan (Stephanie), 21 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, who he all loved dearly.
