Clydalene Julianne Campbell Ripley was born December 13, 1933 and died on January 13, 2022.
Clyda was Born in Lawton, Oklahoma to James Robert Campbell and Eunice Campbell Morris. She had one brother, Jimmy Campbell and one half-sister, Lois Campbell Bennett who are all deceased. In 1950, she marries Vernon Ripley who she met at church. He was stationed at Fort Sill and after about 6 months of marriage, he was sent overseas. 18 months later she joined him in Japan, where they stayed for around 2 years. They started a small congregation there and when they came back to the States, He got out of the Military and become a Church of Christ Minister.
For the nest 50 or so years, Clyda was a Minister’s wife.
She was truly a Proverbs 31 woman. She hosted many dinners for family, members of the church and visitors. Had many people stay in their home for various lengths of time. She was an excellent cook, seamstress, made countless afgans and gifts with crochet or knitting. She also made beautiful scrapbooks and loved all her family and friends dearly.
She loved to read. She was a well-read student of the Bible and lived it.
They had three children, Kimberly Ripley Sanders, Anthony Vernon Ripley, and Janet Karen Wilkerson, who all loved her so much and will miss her more that can be expressed.
She has several Grandchildren, some of whom spent a lot of their early years hanging with her: Lance, Julie, Jordan, Kayla, Kristin, Bobby and Kyndall
Great Grandchildren also spent time with her: Alex, Tucker, Bella, Kymbrie, Christian, Tracey, Violet, Lucy, Sarah, and J.T.
She played the piano to them and games with them and always had goodies.
There will be a visitation on January 17, 2022, at John Ireland Funeral home from 5:00Pm until 8:30PM.
A graveside prayer service for the immediate family will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Lawton, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband of 57 years and her mother and stepfather.
