Christine Hyatt Obituary

Christine Prince-Hyatt of Oklahoma City, age 89, passed away from this life to go home to her lord in savior in Heaven on July 28, 2021. She was born in Iron City, Tennessee on March 14, 1932 to Ike and Rosie Allas Prince (formerly Golloher). Later in life, Christine met and married the love of her life, Virgil Hyatt. Christine and Virgil were married for 49 years, inseparable, and very affectionate for each other. They had seven children, and together they raised their family in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Ms. Hyatt was a very talented Seamstress. She made clothing for her entire family, and even for the family’s baby dolls, which were also handmade by Christine. For her whole life, she was an early riser and a morning person. She was a very strong woman, an incredibly hard worker, and she knew all the ins and outs of farm life. She was a very active member of the Portland Avenue Pentecostal Church, and she loved her church family and her God very much. Christine will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Christine was preceded in death by her parents, her first Husband Ernie Dean Decker, and her second beloved husband, Virgil Hyatt, a son, Jackie Ray Decker, a daughter, Barbara Decker, two grandsons, Kalob Hill and Rocky Decker, and a granddaughter, Melissa Bishop-Hyatt.

She is survived by her children, Lee Ernest Decker, Johnny Decker, Judy Bishop, and Jerry Decker; grandchildren Audrey Hill, Barbara Murphy, Charlotte McKelvy and husband Mike McKelvy, Christy McBride and husband Bill McBride, Amy Reid and husband Jimmy Reid, Caleb Lampkin, Billy Jack Decker, and Rachel Decker-Felder; as well as 10 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and a host of other loving family members and friends.
