Charles Ray Hill

Charles “Chuck” Ray Hill, Jr. of Blanchard was born on October 11, 1962, in Orange County, California to Charles Ray Hill, Sr. and Janet Faye Hill.  On Sunday, July 18, 2021, Charles passed in his home at the age of 58 years old.

Charles graduated with the class of 1980 from U.S. Grant High School in Oklahoma City.  While he was in school, he took automotive classes from the local VoTech.  Life took him in a different direction though, and he became a butcher in 1999, working for both Homeland and Cash Savers over the years.  Though Charles grew up in the Mormon church, he later became non-denominational.

Charles loved music and playing his guitars.  Some of his favorite artists were The Eagles, Rascal Flatts, Aerosmith, Journey, Cher, Boston, and Foreigner.  He also enjoyed thrift store shopping, being outdoors, tinkering with motorcycles or dirt bikes, loving on his dogs, and being with “his people.”  One of “his people” who enjoyed watching scary movies with was his youngest daughter, Jessie.  Twister, Avatar, Pitch Perfect, and all of the Conjuring series were among his favorite movies.  Of television shows, he was particularly fond of American Idol, Locke & Key, and Criminal Minds.

Every year at Thanksgiving, Charles would cook with his wife, Nancy.  He liked grilling outside.  His favorite restaurants were KT’s and Mamaveca Mexican and Peruvian Restaurant.  For dessert, Braum’s chocolate shakes always hit the spot.  While in the hospital, he requested Nancy’s oatmeal almost daily.

Charles loved his family dearly and loved to crack jokes in any situation.  He enjoyed telling embarrassing stories or bringing up old memories.  He had such a giving heart; he would give the last dollar in his pocket to feed a stranger.

Charles was preceded in death by his son, Jake Randall Hill; Grandpa Franks; and Grandma Franks.  He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Nancy Hill; Jessie Hill; Rebecka Curliss and her husband, Jimmy Curliss; Janet Hill; Charles Hill, Sr.; Zachary Hill; Brody Curliss; Adaline Curliss; Mark Hill and his wife, Lorie Hill; Patricia Brown; many nephews and one niece; and his favorite dog, Ella Grace.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 23, 2021, at John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home & Chapel, 120 South Broadway Avenue, Moore, Oklahoma. Friends and family are welcome to join the family for a lunch following the service at the Pioneer Library Community Room, located at 205 Northeast 10th Street in Blanchard, Oklahoma.
