Carrie Lynn Thomas of Yukon, Oklahoma, passed away from this life on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at the age of 60. Carrie was born in Oklahoma City on May 5, 1963, the daughter of Clovous Hicks and Jackie Carol Henry.
Carrie was known as a hard-working, self-sacrificing fighter who lived her life to its fullest. She worked hard to play hard, and her tough, strong-willed personality took her incredibly far in life. Professionally, Carrie was tech-savvy and worked in software sales, enjoying success in her career for many years. At home, she liked to keep her house spotless and immaculate, always working her hardest to provide the best and most comfortable life for her family.
While she adored her family, Carrie seemed to thrive as she began approaching her retirement years and her children began leaving home. She started traveling frequently later in life, taking many memorable trips to so many fabulous places. She definitely had a fun, slightly wild side and loved being anywhere near the water. She loved going to the cabin at Grand Lake and enjoyed bass fishing any chance she got. Carrie also enjoyed float trips on the Illinois River. She loved playing the penny slots at any casino, and fondly spoke of her many trips to the lake. When she wasn’t collecting the golf balls that landed in her yard from the course near her home, Carrie was beautifying her own home in various ways, or planning the next family get-together at the cabin by the lake. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Carrie will be very dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, James “Bo” Thomas; four children, Brandy Coker, Kimberly Brandon, Taylor Thomas, and Alexis Marsh; her brother Todd Hicks, sister Teresa Banks, and sisters Shannon Price, and Amy Driver. Carrie is also survived by 13 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, her chihuahua, Muffin, and many more loving nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
