Carol Marie Hawkins, of Newalla, Oklahoma, passed away from this life at home on August 29, 2023, at the age of 72. She was born December 13, 1950, in Allen, Texas.
Carol graduated from Del City High School in 1969 where she was a member of the cheerleading squad throughout high school and a homecoming queen. She worked at the United States Postal Service for 36 years, held multiple positions throughout Oklahoma and retired from. She loved interior decorating, sewing, reading, shopping, and helping others in need. Carol was a very compassionate, loving, caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved OU football, going to OSU games with her husband Rick. She also loved going to live concerts. Some of her favorite music included Classic Rock, Country, Brian Adams, Alan Jackson, Michael Bolton, and Kenny G.
But the most important part of Carol is that she genuinely loved the Lord Jesus. Her faith was exceptional as a Christian woman and a follower of Christ.
Carol is survived by her husband of 16 years, Rick Hawkins; children, Ashley Barnett and fiancé, Richie Bishop; Michael David Jennings and wife, Ritchie. Carol also loved and nourished four stepdaughters, Meshelle Mushinski, Jennifer Malone and husband, Charlie, Taylor Pearson and husband, Preston; and Madison Silverio and her husband, Millard. Carol was also blessed with eight grandchildren: Avery Jennings, Zach Jennings, Knox Holliday, Dustin Hoffman, Kyle Malone, Shelby Malone, Nathan Cox, and Wyatt Malone.
Carol also had eight great-grandchildren: Abygale Grace, Makynzie Faythe, Olyvia Joy, Charley Hope, Illeana Jean Grace, Regan Sophia, Mylah Raquel, and Hanna Elizabeth.
We also must mention her little miniature Yorkie, Rylee Morgan, who she was crazy about. She also leaves a host of Del City School classmates, other loving family members, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Robert Lafayette Kelly and Mary Marie Mast Alton; and one brother, Kenneth Karl Kelly, and grandparents. Arrangements provided by the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, Moore, Oklahoma.
