Carol Lou Eaton

Carol Lou Eaton of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away from this life on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at the age of 85. Carol was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma, on March 12, 1938, the daughter of Clide Everit Zink and Flossy (Mitchel) Zink. Carol grew up and attended school in Ponca City and went on to attend Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Carol spent most of her working career as an Accountant for CIT Financial in Oklahoma City. She was a talented painter and artist who loved spending her time painting and creating new art. She was also an avid and voracious reader who enjoyed reading anything she could get her hands on. Carol was even content to read things like instruction manuals, informational posters, and insightful magazines – as long as she was reading something, she was happy.

Carol enjoyed attending services at her church, and she loved admiring the beauty of nature that God created. She especially enjoyed watching birds and looking at pretty flowers. Carol’s sweet, loving personality and her devotion to her family were such a beacon of positivity in the world, and Carol will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clide and Flossy Zink, her husband of 33 years, Gerald Eaton, a grandson, Brett Eaton, and her brother, Ron Zink.

Left to cherish her memory are two children, Michael B. Eaton and daughter-in-law Holly, and Elaine Eaton Schraeder and her significant other, Hank. Carol is also survived by her grandchildren, Tiffany, Eddie, Misty, and Ethan, 12 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and many more loved ones and dear friends.
