Bradley Scott West I of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, March 18th, 2023, at the age of 63 years. Brad was born on May 28th in Atlanta, Georgia. He was the son of Joanne McCully and Joseph West Jr. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, his brothers Bill West and Jeff West, and his late wife, Wendy Heavener West.
Brad was a light to all who knew him. He devoted his life to selflessly serving others as a father, spouse, coach, and friend. Known for his passion for basketball, he impacted numerous youths on and off the court, leading nationally ranked teams around the nation.
Graduating at the top of his class, Brad was highly educated in the field of criminal justice and enjoyed sharing his wealth of knowledge with others. He is known as a faithful mentor to countless people in both sports and life.
He enjoyed spending his time traveling and singing karaoke with his wife, playing with their grandchildren, and loudly cheering on the Dallas Cowboys any chance he got. It was uncommon to see Brad show up anywhere without a genuine smile and a bottle of Coca Cola in hand.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Quynh, his siblings Joe West and Kelsey Oliver, and his children: Bradley S. West II and wife Ashley, Ryan Daniel West Sr. and wife Lluvia, and Lauren Robinson, along with stepchildren Mai Nguyen, Trong Nguyen, Cat Nguyen and husband Vincent Le.
He is also survived by his treasured grandchildren; Jaden Robinson, Riley Robinson, Elle Robinson, Ryan West Jr, Austin West, Avery West, Sarah Jane West, Mae West, and Mia Nguyen.
Arrangements have been entrusted to John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home and Chapel.
A celebration of life memorial will be held on Wednesday, March 22nd at 2:00pm at 120 S. Broadway Ave Moore, OK 73160.
