Brad Hoskins Obituary

Brad Michael Hoskins, 64, joined his wife, JoAnn Hoskins, in Heaven (February 16th, 2021) - where she has been waiting for him since the day after their wedding anniversary.

Son of Beverly Hoskins and the late Larry Hoskins, father to Justin Hoskins, grandfather to Trinity and Weston Hoskins, brother to Robin (Dave) Smith, Rebecca Hoskins, Susan Gates, Linda (Brad) Bell and Jon Hoskins (Angela Smith), stepfather to Dawn (Gary) Watkins and Tracy Boyd and uncle to Chris Evans, Wendy, and Mandy Gibbs, Joshua Bell and Kevin, Galen, and Aiden Hoskins.

Brad’s family and friends around the world will miss him deeply and treasure their memories of his love, caring, generosity, quick wit, problem-solving abilities, and skills as a carpenter, gardener, cook, and craftsman, as he created unique knives from antlers and wood. Brad was a veteran of the US Navy.

Growing up, Brad enjoyed building dog houses with his dad and carried those basic lessons into his craft as a pipe fitter for Plumber and Steamfitter Local 441 and eventually as a Mechanical Superintendent for B&V.

He retired from Black and Veatch after traveling worldwide for them, especially in Mexico, Afghanistan, and South Africa, where he made great friends and had many adventures. He blessed many of the men who worked for him, providing knives so they could hunt in the jungles and shoes, so they were not barefoot, and donated toys for the tribe’s children to play.

Friends will remember his favorite sayings, “purrrrfect” “every damn day” and how he used “green pig” to say he loved them.

The world lost one of the kindest gentlemen we were blessed to know. What a celebration there must have been the day he entered the gates of Heaven and joined friends and family who have been waiting for him.

Per his request, there will be no formal farewell ceremony and his ashes will be scattered by his son in the ocean near Hawaii, where Brad spent many happy years. In lieu of flowers, donations to WoundedWarriorProject.org are preferred.

Green pig to all.
