Bonnie Faye Gettle of Moore, Oklahoma, was called Home to Heaven on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at the age of 85. Born on January 18, 1938, in Washington, Missouri, Bonnie was the daughter of Hazel Nadine (Satterfield) Branson and Clifton Orville Branson. She grew up in Del City, Oklahoma and graduated from Del City High School with the Class of 1955. Just a year later, Bonnie married the love of her life, Paul Gettle, on August 24, 1956. With their loving union came three wonderful daughters: Robin, Kim, and Paula.
Bonnie was a longtime and devoted member of Wilmont Place Baptist Church. She has also played piano, taught Sunday School, and sang in the choir on occasion at churches she attended. She enjoyed spending her free time going to garage sales, traveling, reading novels, watching films and sports. She watched her favorite movie, Gone with the Wind, countless times over the years, and she loved watching Thunder basketball games and OU softball. Most of all, Bonnie cherished her family and loved nothing more than the time she spent with the people she loved. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Bonnie will be very dearly missed.
Left to treasure her memory is her loving husband of 67 years, Paul Gettle; and her children, Robin Dennis and son-in-law Dion, Kim McGowen and son-in-law Dennis, and Paula Gifford and son-in-law Jeff; eight grandchildren, Jeremy Dennis (Lora), Trey Dennis (Allison), Bethany Dennis, Lindsey Wren (Chris), Greg McGowen (Jessica), Ryan Newman, Kristin Gifford, and Amber Gifford.
Bonnie is also survived by her sister, Ruth Ann Sigman and her husband Norman of Missouri; her great-grandchildren, Grace Dennis, Karson McGowen, Oaklee Wren, Kameryn Thomas, Eli Newman, Hudson Green, Tripp Wren, Paiden McGowen, Piper McLeod, and Brodi McLeod; along with many other loved ones and family.
