Bobby Pressley Obituary

Bobby Jack “Bob” Pressley, of Moore, Oklahoma, passed from this life on December 2, 2021, at the age of 87.  He was born December 12, 1933, in Fort Worth, Texas to Dillard & Eleanor (Spear) Pressley.  Bob was a member of First Moore Baptist Church.  He enjoyed golfing, building wood projects, tinkering on cars and working in the yard.  Bob enjoyed watching the Oklahoma City Thunder and he was also an Oklahoma State Cowboys fan.  He enjoyed all sports, especially when it came to football.  Bob enjoyed watching war movies, westerns, and the History Channel.  He attended high school in Mansfield, Texas.  Bob heard his country’s call and proudly served in the United States Army, where he rose to the rank of Private First Class during the Korean Conflict and received an Honorable Discharge for services rendered to his country when called upon to do so.  Bob also served 10 years in the Army National Guard.  He was a great athlete, and he played the position of pitcher in baseball, and was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds.  After playing baseball, Bob went to work for General Motors and retired as a superintendent after 34 years of service.  He was very outgoing, never met a stranger and was always busy and on the go.  Kim said her stepfather was kind-hearted, loving and always offered words of wisdom.  Bob was a huge supporter of Special Olympics, and the kids referred to him as “Grandpa.”  Bob and Darlene enjoyed taking vacations together, going out to dinner, and spending time with the grandchildren.  He was a loving husband, father, stepfather, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.  His first love was his Lord and Savior, and being with Darlene, the love of his life for the past 39 years.  Bob touched the hears of many with his kindness, love for others, and his outgoing personality.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.  Bob is survived by his wife, Darlene, of the home; 1 daughter, Angela Lackey & husband, Charles, of Gordon, Texas; 2 stepchildren, Kim Philips & husband, David, of Moore, Oklahoma, and Ronnie Rawson & wife, Dena, of Oklahoma City; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Nora Green & husband, Charles, of Arlington, Texas; brother, Jerry Pressley & wife, Linda, of Burleson, Texas; and a host of other loving family members and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Dillard & Eleanor Pressley.  A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, December 6, 2021, at First Moore Baptist Church located at 301 NE 27th Street, in Moore, Oklahoma.  The family suggests donations may be made in Bob’s honor to the American Cancer Society, 8400 Silver Crossing, Oklahoma City, OK  73132.  Services are under the direction of the John M.
