Billy Joe Shaw

Billy Joe Shaw of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, was called Home to Jesus on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at the age of 73. Billy was born in Oklahoma City on December 7, 1949, to Orville Junior Shaw Sr. and Irene Annie (Williams) Shaw.

Until his retirement, Billy spent most his working career in Civil Service for Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City. He enjoyed playing sports, especially golf and baseball. As a young man, Billy played baseball in the City League and was quite the talented third baseman.

Billy’s faith was very important to him throughout his life, and he was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord. He was always comforted knowing that Christ died for him, and for all sinners. Most of all, he was a dedicated family man who enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his wife, Cynthia. He loved to travel and took his family on many wonderful vacations over the years, creating many beautiful, lasting memories together. Billy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be dearly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Irene and Orville Shaw, two brothers, John Norton, and Orville Shaw Jr., and one sister, Mary L. Woods.

Left to treasure his memory are his loving wife, Cynthia Shaw; two children, daughter Angela McFarland and her husband, Mark, and son Billy Shaw II and his wife, Kenna; three grandchildren, Madison Christians, Ally A. Christians, and Jensen Shaw; one brother, Richard Shaw and his wife, Jackie, and many more loving family members and friends.
