Beverly Jean Waters, known by most as “Stormy”, was born in Norman, Oklahoma, on January 20, 1959, the daughter of Frank William Shea and Betty June (Gregory) Fox. She passed away on July 27, 2022, at the age of 63. Stormy attended Norman public schools, then went on to attend Moore Norman Technology Center, where she earned a certification in software maintenance. She was employed at Innovative Computer Corporation and retired after ten years of dedicated service. On January 23, 1999, Stormy married the love of her life, Ronnie Paul Waters, in a beautiful ceremony in her hometown of Norman.
Described as being a spiritual person, Stormy’s faith was a vital theme in her life, and she was an active member of St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Norman and loved her church family dearly. Stormy had a variety of hobbies and interests throughout her life. She loved watching westerns, especially when they featured TV legend Sam Elliott. She also enjoyed sewing, gardening, keeping up with her beloved OU Sooners, as well as collecting antiques and precious stones and crystals. She was a talented writer and poet who loved to write, even having some of her poetry published in the Library of Congress. She was sweet and funny and had a wonderful sense of humor, with her jokes and outgoing personality often making her the life of the party. More than anything though, her family were her everything, especially her children and grandchildren, who were her absolute pride and joy.
She had a kind, loving, and giving heart, and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with those she loved. She liked her quiet evenings at home with Ronnie, but she also enjoyed traveling and going on adventures with her love. The couple took many memorable excursions to Eureka Springs, Hot Springs, among other beautiful destinations in northwest Arkansas, creating a lifetime of wonderful memories together. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Stormy touched the lives of many with her loving spirit and zest for life, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Sonya Renee Shea, and a brother, Jessie Daniel Shea.
Left to treasure her memory are her loving husband of 23 years, Ronnie Waters, of the home; a son, Tommie Shea of Edmond, Oklahoma; two brothers, Frank and John Shea, and six sisters, Sylvia Bennett, Diane Shea, Sherry Shea, Patty Shea, Mary Shea Stephens, and Patricia Clark; along with nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and many more loving extended family members and dear friends.
