Beverly Ann Bowerman

Beverly Ann Bowerman, of Moore, Oklahoma passed away on April 28, 2021, at the age of 87.  She was born on June 29, 1933, in Auburn, Indiana to Caryl & Ethel (Antrup) Bowerman. 

Beverly was a member of the First Baptist Church of Moore.  She enjoyed going to garage sales, and gardening, especially raising flowers.  Her yard was full of beautiful flowers.  She also taught gardening at her church.  Beverly was a member of the Garden Club and the Red Hat Society.  She was known for all the different hats she wore.  Beverly enjoyed West Coast Swing Dancing and was a member of the Swing Dance Club.  She also enjoyed reading Danielle Steele novels, books about birds, and especially her Bible.  Beverly enjoyed doing pottery, calligraphy, and playing the clarinet.  She was an Oklahoma City Thunder fan as well as the Oklahoma Sooners.  She enjoyed watching Antique Roadshow, The Price is Right, Dr. Baker, and The Hallmark Channel. 

Beverly attended Adrian High School in, Adrian, Michigan.  In 1968, she moved to Oklahoma.  Beverly then went to work for the State of Oklahoma in the Sequoyah Building.  In 1994, she retired from the University of Oklahoma Medical Center. 

She was spunky and feisty.  Her granddaughter, Whitney said Beverly was lively and had a kind, loving, and giving heart, and her daughter-in-law, Cristie said Beverly loved Christmas and everyone being together.  Ricky, her son said she also loved Easter and St. Patrick’s Day. 

Rebecca said her mother was a wonderful homemaker and a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Her first love was her Lord and Savior, and spending time with her family.  

Beverly is survived by her son, Ricky Smith & wife, Cristie; her daughter, Rebecca Birchfield & husband, Larry; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Bonnie Riley and Brenda Dennis, both of Adrian Michigan.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Caryl & Ethel Bowerman; sister, Betty Murray; and brother, Billy Bowerman.  Services for Beverly will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 1, 2021, at the Lynlee Mae Chapel, located at 507 E. Main Street, in Moore, Oklahoma.  Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, Moore, Oklahoma.
