Belvia Irene Moore, 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 20, 2020. The daughter of George "Bill" and Maxie (Allen) Wallace, Belvia was born on October 29, 1930 in Sasakwa, Oklahoma.
Belvia retired from Southwestern Bell where she worked as a clerk. Belvia also worked for several years at the Laundromat on Broadway in Moore. She also enjoyed her work at the election polls.
Belvia was married to the love of her life, “Her George” in 1962 and they were married for 55 years at the time of his death in 2017.
Belvia was a member of Southgate Baptist Church for many years and was an active member of the Women’s Missionary Axillary (WMA) in which she served as a dedicated treasurer. She was also a former member of Hudson Avenue Baptist Church where she taught and loved on children as a Sunday School teacher for several years.
Although George and Belvia did not have any biological children, Belvia was an adopted grandmother and great grandmother to many, many children.
Belvia is survived by one brother, Harold Ray Wallace; one sister, Phyllis Ann Cain; 12 nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews; special friends, Roger Burton, Don and Mary McCarty, Eric and Linda Halverson and their sons, and Robert Halverson; and many other loving friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, George Moore; parents, Bill and Maxie Wallace; brother, Lee Roy Wallace; and sister, Alice Marie Mullins.
Visitation will be on Friday, Oct 23, 2020 from 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM at the John Ireland Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Moore Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of John Ireland Funeral Home.
