Bebop Hendricks Obituary

Bebop Hendricks, Jr. of Oklahoma City was born on December 27, 1981, to Clarence Harding Hendricks, aka Bebop Sr., and Cheryl Lynn Reed, née Fish.  On Saturday, July 10, 2021, Bebop left this world far too soon at the age of 39 years old.

Music was a major part of Bebop’s life.  He listened to a variety of styles and genres, especially country and rock, as well as some rap.  Jelly Roll, Haystak, Tesla, and ICP were only a few of his favorites.  At the end of the day, he also enjoyed watching UFC competitions to help him unwind.  Pizza and KFC’s chicken were two of his favorite foods, and he was particularly a fan of Golden Corral.  Still, nothing beat his mom's fried potatoes.

After getting his GED, Bebop was able to immerse himself in his love of cars with his job as a mechanic.  He loved sprint cars, racing, dirt bikes, and working on anything with an engine.  He was a natural jack-of-all-trades.

If he wasn’t under the hood, he was on the road.  He loved road trips and often used them as a chance to visit his brother.  Family meant the world to him.  He loved spending time with them, especially with his boy.  Everyone close to him knew him to be stubborn, hard-headed, and he liked it his way, but they also knew that he was big-hearted and would help anyone.  He was funny, goofy, and a joy to those in his life.

Bebop was preceded in death by his father, Bebop, Sr.; brother, Joshua Lynn; and Grandma and Grandpa, Eva and Roy.  He is survived by his mother, Cheryl Reed of Oklahoma City; sister, Sheena Hendricks and her husband, Earl of Oklahoma City; sister, Kaleisha George and JD of Mountain View, Oklahoma; son, Ethan Lynn and his mother, Marlana Dockery of Oklahoma City; lots of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, family, friends, and the many women he encountered.

Visitation will be at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 16, 2021, at John M. Ireland Funeral Home of Capitol Hill, 3228 S. Western Avenue, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at John M. Ireland Funeral Home of Capitol Hill.
