Barbara Runyon Obituary

Barbara Emeline Runyon of Tuttle, Oklahoma, passed away from this life to begin her eternal life in Heaven with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 30, 2021, at the age of 72. Barbara was born in Norman, Oklahoma, to Layton and Ina Worley on June 1, 1949.

Barbara was a warm and caring person who was considered a mom to everyone. Known as The Organizer, Barbara was a wonderful Homemaker for her family. She kept everyone in line and held everything together. Barbara was the one you’d go to when you needed a pep talk, always able to pick anyone up when they were down. Barbara’s faith was incredibly important to her, and she was very involved with her church in her younger years. She was the Deacon’s wife and a youth director, always an open ear to talk to and a caring shoulder to lean on for many people in their congregation. Barbara was never afraid to speak her mind. She was incredibly passionate and patriotic, and she always had your back when she agreed with you. She loved her grandkids fiercely, always their biggest cheerleader at their school and sports functions, rooting for them from the sidelines, and before that, doing the same for her children.

Barbara enjoyed watching home improvement shows and cooking shows, and she loved cooking with her grandchildren. She adored being outdoors and enjoyed going camping all throughout her life. In her younger years, she was a cook and camp counselor at Falls Creek Youth Camp. She loved going fishing in her backyard, and she loved taking care of the ducks and geese that called her pond home. She adored all animals, taking in any critter who needed a home and raising them with love. She loved her puppies and enjoyed tending to her flower garden. More than anything in this life, Barbara loved her family. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and she will be deeply and forever missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her mom and dad, Ina and Layton, two brothers, Tommy and Johnney, a nephew, Caleb Adams, her father-in-law, Othel, and her mother-in-law, Dolly.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Richard, the love of her life since she was fifteen years-old; three children, sons Timothy and spouse Brandy, Jeffery and spouse Colleen, and daughter Kimberlee; four sisters, Carolyn Wilson and spouse Harry, Mary Ray and spouse Harley, Betty Worley, and Peggy Morales of Flower Mound, Texas; nine grandchildren, Payten, Austen, Francie, Schyler, Justine, Ondrea, Kelly, Bailee, Tate, and Stetson; one great-grandchild, Brayleigh; sisters-in-law Marilyn Penrod of Norman, Oklahoma, Evelyn Miksell of Alvarado, Texas; as well as a host of nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog, Boston.
