Azar Rasolkani Obituary

Azar Rasolkhani of Norman, Oklahoma, left this world on May 22, 2023, at the age of 72 years old.  She was born on December 12, 1950, in Tehran.  She is the daughter of Ali Akbar Gordji and Iran Afshar Tehrani.  She lived in Tehran until she graduated high school.  She attended community college in Tehran until she got married to the love of her life, her husband Freidoon Rasolkhani, on August 28, 1974, and started to take classes at the University of Oklahoma in Interior Design.  She was blessed when she had her firstborn son, Koorosh on May 14, 1975. She was blessed again several years later when she had her second son, Kayvan on August 24, 1979.  After the birth of her second son, she decided to become a full-time mom and raise her family with her husband.

Azar was a dedicated mother, wife, and friend to all that knew her.  Some of her passions were her family, listening to classical and opera music, traveling, cooking, hosting, crafts, reading, antiquing, antique cars, painting, remodeling homes, and gardening.  She was someone that would walk into any room and immediately brighten the mood and atmosphere.  She was able to converse with anyone and everyone.  She would make you feel that you are the most important person in the world.  Azar was always willing to lend her heart and time to people that may have needed it.  She was an honest, loyal, loving, and compassionate person.  She was always laughing and joking around, and those who knew her would always love to engage with her due to the fact that she could always make anyone laugh ‘til their belly hurt.  She always gave the best hugs and could always make you smile whenever you were down.  She was someone that you could count on when you needed it most.  Her most favorite passion was to spend time with her family.  She would love to just spend time with family, chatting about their day as well as talking about the various topics of the day.

Azar was someone who, despite being tough and strong, was also a kind, caring and compassionate person.  She was someone who would put her loved ones’ needs over her own.  Because of her love, kindness, and compassion she touched many people’s hearts and will be extremely missed by all those individuals whose life she had impacted.

Azar is preceded in death by her parents Ali and Iran.  Left to cherish her memories are her husband Friedoon Rasolkhani, her sons Koorosh Cyrus Rasolkhani, Kayvan Karya Rasolkhani, and sister Omid Gordji, all of Norman, Oklahoma, as well as numerous other family members and friends who knew her.  She will be missed greatly and will be in everyone’s hearts.
