Allie Burgin Jr. Obituary

Mr. Allie Estel Burgin Jr. of Mustang, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at the age of 83. Allie was born in Antlers, Oklahoma, on August 31, 1940, to Lillian Ruth (Quinill) Burgin and Allie Estel Burgin Sr. He graduated from Duncan High School in 1959 and after hearing his country’s call, served proudly and honorably in the United States Navy.

After his time in the Navy, he worked for Haliburton and got his Associates Degree in Electronics.  He worked at IBM and eventually became the owner and operator of his own company, A&J Industries, Inc. After his retirement, Allie went on to attend the University of Oklahoma, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Allie was incredibly personable and never met a stranger. He was a longtime member of the Pauls Valley Chamber of Commerce, President of the Rotary Club of Pauls Valley, and Chairman of the Garvin County Republican party.

Allie was a wonderful dad and a hard worker who always provided for his family and was always invested in the happiness and wellbeing of his children. When his daughters were growing up, he never missed their school or sporting events, and even took his daughter Debbie to a KISS concert when she was in the 6th grade. He spent much of his time caring for his 250-acre farm that he lovingly named “The Place”. There, he enjoyed working his pecan orchard, and in his younger years, raising cattle. He had a kind, loving, and giving heart and would help anyone in need. Christie Hadley described him best when she said, “Allie had a wonderful sense of humor. He had a great way of putting those around him at ease. He was a very positive, upbeat person.” As he began dealing with health issues, and people would ask how he was doing, he liked to playfully reply, “Like a rock.”

He was tough, brave, and adventurous. Allie’s interests and hobbies reflected his risk-taking nature – he enjoyed scuba diving, volunteering to help out at Okie noodling, deer and hog hunting, and practicing martial arts (he had proudly earned his brown belt in Taekwondo). In quieter moments, he liked to spend his time watching the OU Sooners play football, collecting coins, and watching his favorite movies, like the 1967 western-themed comedy Waterhole No. 3.

More than anything, Allie treasured the people he loved and loved to spend time with his beloved family. So many hearts were touched by his kindness, outgoing personality, and the genuine love he had for his fellow man. As he loved to say, “The road goes on forever, and the party never ends.”

Allie will be very deeply missed.

Left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Tara Noelte and son-in-law Bryan of Chino Hills, California, and Deborah Faubion and son-in-law Freddie of Mustang, Oklahoma; his brother, Thomas Carl Burgin sister-in-law Christy; five grandchildren, Logan Faubion, Travis Noelte, Zackary Noelte, Jacee Faubion, and Blake Crystal, and his bonus grandchildren Colton and Tillman Sanderson, and Isaac, Aaron, and Sabrina Dixon; two great-grand-daughters, Maisyn and Parker Crystal. Allie is also survived by his former wife and friend, Sharon Burgin, the mother of his children, Josephine McMahan, and many more loving family members and friends.
