It is with immense grief and an abundance of fond memories that we announce the death of Jon Michael “Mike” Swindle of Blanchard, Oklahoma, who passed away from this life on April 22, 2024, at the age of 76. Mike was born in Oklahoma City on August 26, 1947, to James and Beulah Swindle, both of whom have preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his brother.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. Mike is survived by his wife, Sherri Swindle; two daughters, Krista Cravens and her husband Timothy, and Jill Swindle; his grandchildren Dylan Vaughn, Kenrick Cravens and his wife Ashley, Bobbie Cravens, Tyler Vaughn and his wife Carli, and Ashley Cravens, along with his first great-grandchild, currently on the way; and his sister, Jeannie Brockett.
In 1971, Mike founded and owned A-United Storage Trailers Inc. and was the proud owner and operator of Western Motor Freight from 1973 until his retirement in 2005. In his free time, he loved collecting and listening to oldies music, restoring and showcasing classic cars, and spending time at his lake home at Lake Texoma. Most of all, Mike found joy in spending quality time with the people he loved, particularly his grandchildren, all of whom he completely adored. He will be very dearly missed.
A formal visitation will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024, at the John Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, 120 S. Broadway Ave. Moore, OK, from 5:00-7:00pm.
