Vergie Frances Nunley, 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 11, 2017



Vergie Frances Nunley, of Oklahoma City, passed away October 7, 2017, at the age of 95. She was born November 13, 1921, in Park Hill, Oklahoma, to Leonard and Susan (Clayton) Monholland. Vergie enjoyed sewing, quiltin, camping and fishing. She also enjoyed gardening and raising beautiful flowers. Vergie enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune, The Price Is Right and Jeopardy. She ws an Okahoma Sooners fan and she enjoyed watching golf. Vergie was raised in Park Hill, Oklahoma and for a short period of time, she lived in California and then the family moved to Oklahoma City, where she resided for over the last 60 years. Vergie was a homemaker aned mother all of her working career. Vergie was very outgoing. She was a feisty, but kind and loving person. She was strong-willed and had a heart of gold and was very compassionate person. Her first love was being with Floyd, the love of her life for 62 years, spending time with her children, her family and especially all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren,great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Vergie is survived by 2 sons, Jimmy Nunley, of Wynette, Oklahoma, and Richard “Alan” Nunley, of Ponca City, Oklahoma; 3 daughters, Wanda Coffman, of Oklahoma City, Lynda Dotson, of Stratford, and Jeanne Colclanzier, of Oklahoma City; sister-in-law, Dean Monholland; numerous, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd Nunley; 2 sisters, Mary Ellen Phillips and Rosalee Osage; 5 brothers, Monroe, Sylvester, Raymond, Willie, and Carlton Monholland. . Funeral Services for Vergie will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 12, 2017, in the chapel of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home, located at 120 South Broadway, in Moore, Oklahoma. Interment to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home, Moore, Oklahoma.
