Thomas Lee “Tommy” Irwin, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday April 6, 2018, at the age of 87.He was born May 5, 1930.

Tommy was born and raised in Washington, Oklahoma. As a young man, he worked on the neighboring farms until he was about 17 years old, at which time he went to west Texas to work the farming community there. From there growing into a man, he married Laverne and together they had 2 children, Teresa and David. After their divorce, he married Edith, and they had a son, William “WT.” After they divorced, he married Louise, the love of his life in 1961, and they remained married for 52 years before her passing in 2014. He worked in Oklahoma City as a mechanic throughout most of his early adult years, and then landed his career as a diesel mechanic at International Harvester, where he retired in the mid 1990’s. Tommy enjoyed fishing, playing the guitar, playing cards with friends, building puzzles with Louise, and especially family vacations, and spending quality time with WT and his family. Tommy loved the Sooners, OU football and Thunder basketball. As Tommy got older, he absolutely loved to sit with WT and reminisce about his own childhood memories, as well as when the kids were younger.

Tommy was notorious for stopping and helping folks in need no matter what. He always felt that he and Louise were surrounded by God’s blessings and, should be shared with those around him. He and Louise always had a spare bed made in case someone needed a place to rest.

Tommy loved Jesus!! He was a man of faith and knew without a doubt Jesus Christ was his Lord and Savior and he was and was ready to meet him face to face.
