To the Whately Family,
I was saddened to get this news yesterday. I have a very fond memory of a lunch with Gene in Oklahoma City a number of years ago. We discussed some concerns I had as a newly assigned executive director. He listened intently and shared some thoughts. His positive support at that time and following was reassuring and extremely comforting. This has stuck with me to this day. He was a heck of an asset to rural water. Godspeed Gene.
