Roy Ross Wilkerson, 77, of Oklahoma City, OK passed away February 14, 2017. He was born December 14, 1939 to Kenneth and Eulene Wilkerson. Roy enjoyed fishing, golfing, and playing music. He and his wife, Loretta played in a band called Golden Okies. Roy played bass and guitar and Loretta played the fiddle and sang. Roy and Loretta traveled a lot, they were in 2 RV Clubs the Mobile Villa Club and Norman Wheels. Roy’s favorite place to golf was at Broadmoore Golf Course with his son, Phillip. When it came to fishing, Roy enjoyed crappie fishing. He was an avid OU fan, especially OU football. He also enjoyed watching Fox News, DC Martin and House MD. Roy heard his country’s call and served in the 45th Infantry Division of the US National Guard, where he served as a medic. Roy was employed at Tinker Air Force Base and retired after 35 years of service as a system analysis. Roy was a caring, loving man. He was very industrious and he worked on most his cars. Roy was a hands-on man, and built his own house. His first love was his Lord and Savior, spending time with his wife, Loretta and his children and family. Roy is survived by his wife of 56 years, Loretta, of the home; 1 daughter, Lori Wilkerson, of the home; 2 sons, Kevin Roy Wilkerson, of OKC, and Phillip Lee Wilkerson & wife, Kimberly Kay, of Wheatland, OK; 1 brother, Keith Wilkerson & wife, Doris, of OKC. He is preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Eulene Wilkerson; 1 brother, Merideth Eugene; and 1 sister, Janice Kay. Funeral Services for Roy will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 17, 2017, at Friendship Pentecostal Holiness Church, located at 11301 SE 104th , in Moore, OK. Interment to follow at Schwartz Cemetery in OKC. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home in Moore, OK.
