Rose Helen McCrite, 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 13, 2018

Rose Helen McCrite, devoted, dedicated, and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend departed this life on February 9, 2018 when Jesus escorted her to the arms of her heavenly father.

Rose was born in Yonkers, New York to Frank and Giuseppina (Josephine) Forcelli. She was the seventh of nine children born into the family. In August 1943 she met Eual McCrite, a visiting Okie, at the ‘Moonlight Dance” held on a ship on the Potomac. Three months later, on November 17, 1943, they took a bus to Rockville, Maryland to get married. In 1949, Eual brought Rose to Oklahoma City where they stayed and raised two daughters. Little more than children, when they married, they amazingly grew up together, raised a family together, and grew old together during their seventy-four years of marriage. As a couple and with friends, through the years, they traveled all over the United States, the Carribean, and several European countries.

Rose loved Oklahoma and never regretted leaving New York. Never into sports, she was a devout follower and fan of the Thunder. She was beyond thrilled when her daughter Rose and her husband, James, arranged for her to meet members of the team after their pre-game warm-up. She had many friends, hobbies and accomplishments but none meant more to her than her family. She adored and supported her daughters in any and all of their endeavors. She loved family gatherings and spending time with her children and their families. She was a devout Catholic and long-time member of St. Andrews Parish. Father Jack and the congregation brought her immense pleasure, peace, and happiness.

Rose’s parents and all of her siblings predeceased her. She is survived by her husband, Eual, daughter Mary Wright-Hawkins and husband Tom, daughter Rose Rovick and husband James, seven grandchildren Roger Wright, Amy Simpson, Natalie Meyer, Joseph DiBello, Jonathan Rovick, Elizabeth Rovick, and Shelley Hawkins, ten great-grandchildren Bryce Wright, Heather Simpson, Austin Meyer, Brooke Wright, Pheonix Gilbert, Berke Woodard, Logan Meyer, Cooper Meyer, Jake Siefert, and River Burton, and one great-great-grandchild, Lilly Reasner.

Rose wanted to make sure that special thanks went out to Dr.Khader Khalid Hussein who cared for her for twelve years and to Danielle Robinson, her Hospice Caseworker, who went beyond the call of duty to tenderly care for her during her final earthly days. A prayer vigil will be held at 6:30 PM, Monday, February 12, 2018 at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 800 NW 5th St. Moore, OK. 73160. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at St. Andrew the Apostel Catholic Church with Reverend Jack Feehily officiating. Committal services will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Oklahoma City, OK. Service are under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel, Moore, OK.

This made us think of Aunt Rose, author unknown
God Takes the Best
God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be,
So He put His arms around you, and whispered "come with me."
With tearful eyes we watched you suffer and saw you fade away,
Although we loved you dearly we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating~You're now at peaceful rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
May God hold you in the hollow of his hands until we meet again.
You are all in our prayers and thoughts, our deepest sympaties.
Frankie and Peggy
