Pamela "Pam" Smith, Sept. 13, 2017


Pamela (Pam) Paniagua Smith was born February 20, 1952 'to Antonio Panaigua and Lottie Neal Paniagua in Oklahoma City, OK. Pamela graduated from Capitol Hill Highschool in 1970 and later received her Associates Degree from OSU Tech in Okmulgee, OK.

On July 11, 1971 she married Charlie Smith of Oklahoma City, they lived in several locations throughout Oklahoma until 1981 when they made their permanent residency in Newcastle, OK. Pamela left for a better place on Monday September 11, 2017 at 2:32 pm at Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

Pamela was a proud member of the Chickasaw Nation and retired as a Civil Servant from Tinker Air Force Base. She is preceded in death by her parents Antonio and Lottie Paniagua, and granddaughter Chloe Renee Smith. She is survived by husband Charles Smith, Sr, son Charles Smith Jr, daughters Lisa Smith-Longman and Sonya Smith all of Newcastle. Brother Steve and wife Marian Paniagua of Ada, OK, Sisters Gwendolyn Jones of Oklahoma City, Barbara Freeman of Del City, and Mercedes Paniagua from Oklahoma City.

Pam was blessed with 11 grandsons Shea Longman, Tyler Smith, Collin Longman, Hunter Paniagua, Tristan Paniagua, Trajan Lena, Phoenix Lena, Kale Miller, Taj Smith, Trey Smith, and Koda Proctor. One great grandson Kaden Longman, and one grand daughter Kayla Paycoddy. Each had their own special connections with their grandma and they will all miss her dearly.



She had a way to make people laugh and see the best in every situation. Her laugh was contagious and she loved to clown on people. Pam had many friends and aquaintances and she never met a stranger. Her heart was filled with love for all and she was a tremendous joy to be around.

Viewing will take place on Wednesday September 13 from 5-9pm at John Ireland Funeral Home, 120 South Broadway Moore, OK. There will be a celebration of life Thursday September 14 from 5-9 pm at The Station at Central Park 700 S. Broadway, Moore, OK. Pam didn't want anyone to be sad in her passing she wanted a party with music, laughing and happiness. All friends and family please come to help us honor her last wish.

I have wonderful memories of you girls with ALL TRIBES and visiting with your mom and hearing her laugh . My heart goes out to

Deepest condolences to all of you, may she continue to guard all of you in your everyday duties. She will always be with you, continue to pray to her and she will help you with all your struggles. I am so sorry to know of Pam's passing. Please accept my heart-felt condolences. I worked with Pam at Tinker. She was always willing to help solve problems and was super knowledgeable about her work. There are not enough kind spirits like her in the world. God Bless. Linda Basinger

God's blessings to all of the family. I loved Pam dearly and even though I haven't seen her in years, special memories of her have lived in my heart since Jr high at CHJH. We had so many laughs. My heart is sad at her passing.
