Melvin Flynn Curren, was born on September 17, 1940 in Los Angeles, California and passed away on February 8, 2012 in Noble, Oklahoma at the age of 71.  Melvin was a member of both the Moose Lodge in Norman & Teamsters Union.  His hobbies included reading, and shooting his guns & fishing.  He loved animals, and especially loved playing with his dogs.  Melvin was also known for his talents when it came to playing dominoes.  He was employed by Dolese for over 20 years.  Melvin had been employed in the Redi - Mix business for most of his working career.  He had awesome body style when shooting pool.  His first love was spending time with his family and friends.  

He is suvived by his daughter, Leslie Curren of Norman, Oklahoma; 5 step-children, William Goit of San Clemente, California Danny Goit  of Tribbey, Oklahoma, Shawn Goit of California, Todd Goit of Norman, Oklahoma, Melvin Goit of Perry, Florida; Brother-in-law, Tom Curren & wife Janet, of Noble, Oklahoma; 12 Grandchildren; 1 Great-grandchild; A host of friends and relatives.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Carlene.   

A graveside service will be held 3:00pm, Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012 at Dripping Springs Cemetery in Noble, OK.  Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home Chapel.
