Maxine Elizabeth Canfield, 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 14, 2018

Maxine Elizabeth Canfield, of Oklahoma City, passed away March 10, 2018, at the age of 89.  She was born October 9, 1928, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, to George W. & Violet Kendall.

Maxine enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking and baking.  Her son, Bill said he loved his mom’s pies and she made the best crust in the world, especially her pecan pie.  Maxine enjoyed watching college football with her family.  She enjoyed watching “Gunsmoke,” “Andy Griffith,” and “Matlock.”  Her favorite movie was “Gone With The Wind.”  Maxine was a graduate of Capitol Hill High School, Class of 1947.  She was a homemaker all of her working career.  Maxine had a strong belief in God and she was a member of Church of Jesus Christ Restoration.  Maxine was strong-willed and you always knew where she stood on issues.  She had a kind and loving servant’s heart.  You could never visit her without her feeding you.  She was known as “Mema” and played all kinds of games and cards with her family, as well as traveling with them.  Her first love was her Lord and Savior and being a devoted wife for 65 years.  She loved spending time with her children and attending all of her grandchildren’s events and she was their biggest cheerleader, you could hear her voice supporting them.

Maxine is survived by her beloved husband, Eugene Canfield, of the home; 1 son, Bill Canfield & wife, Star, of Moore; 2 daughters, Cindy Canfield, of Edmond, and Cathy Fallwell & husband, Rocky, of Houston, Texas; 5 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by parents, George & Violet Kendall; and her brother, George Kendall.

Family will receive friends and family from 6pm-8pm, Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, located at 120 South Broadway, in Moore, OK.  Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at Memorial Park Cemetery, 13313 N. Kelley Ave., in Oklahoma City.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital.  Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home.

I am sorry for your loss and Maxine will definitely be missed. I will never forget her laugh and smile she always had. I regret that I cannot attend the funeral as I had surgery a week ago but my thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

I Love You, Maxine! You were my friend and like a second Mom to me.
I always enjoyed seeing and visiting with you at Church...
You are by now, "smarter, wiser" than All of Us put together...

I remember Cathy taking my sons to her mom with her to a family dinner, while I worked. Maxine not only fed my kids but sent food home for me! She was a wonderful person and leaves a godly legacy to her family. Condolences and prayers to her children and grandchildren. She will be missed.
