Margaret Sue Unsell, 1:00 PM, Thursday, August 10, 2017


Margaret Sue Unsell, of Moore, OK, passed away August 5, 2017 at the age of 76. She was born January 4, 1941, in Mangum, OK, to BB & Nannie Lou (Phelps) Adams.

Sue attended Crossroads Church and Christian Life Fellowship. She married James Unsell March 27, 1981, in Gainesville, Texas. Sue enjoyed shopping and baking. Layla, her granddaughter, said she was known for her cakes and cupcakes. Sue and James enjoyed traveling to Houston, Colorado, Washington, Myrtle Beach, and her favorite places were Branson and Eureka Springs. She also really enjoyed her trip with James to Four Corners. Sue enjoyed watching the Oklahoma City Thunder and OU Sooners. She enjoyed watching TBN and cooking shows, especially the Food Channel. James took Sue to Pawhuska to see the Pioneer Woman. Sue was a homemaker and she drove a school bus for Moore Public Schools for approximately 15 years. She drove mini bus #6. Layla said her grandmother had a kind, loving and gentle heart, and she gave to everyone she ever met, whether it was in a tip at a restaurant or baking food and giving it to someone. Sue never liked to be late. Her first love was being with James, her daughters, and especially her grandchildren.

Sue is survived by her husband of 36 years, James Unsell, of the home; 4 daughters, Kathy Foster, of Houston, TX, Tammy Angel, of Houston, TX, Karla Harris, of OKC, and Kalinda DeMarco, of Moore; 1 step-son, Mark Unsell, of Wichita Falls, TX; 1 step-daughter, Kathy Richardson, of OKC; granddaughter, Layla Payne, that was raised by Sue & James; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Lee Adams, of Houston, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents, BB & Nannie Adams; 2 brothers, Bill and Calvin; and 2 sisters, Irene and Helen.

A Memorial Service for Sue will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, August 10, 2017, in the chapel of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home, located at 120 South Broadway, in Moore, OK. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home.
