I was sad to hear of the passing of James "Cookie" Cook. We attended both junior high and CHHS and graduated in 1963. He was a very prominent person who stood out at both schools. He helped and participated in CHHS reunion committees. My memories of him include him asking me to dance before school and at sock hops in junior high. Also, at the last reunion (our class of '63 CHHS 50th reunion), he grabbed my hand as I passed him and held on to it for a while. He also (unknowingly to me) paid for my lunch at several 50th anniversary committee meetings. He was one-of-a-kind and will be missed. My condolences go out to his family. He is at peace now.
