Gerald Cagle Smith was born August 1, 1942 in Wheeler, TX to Cagle A. and Jewel A. Smith and was raised in the Lawton and Chickasha areas. After his service in the US Army, his career in the life insurance industry spanned more than 50 years with American National, American General, and AIG. He also brokered insurance during his retirement years.

He attended Rhema Bible College, and with 37 years of sobriety, he ministered to many through Alcoholics Anonymous.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Charlene Smith of OKC; son Jeffrey Smith and wife D’Onna of Jenks; daughters Tammie Scott and Wendell of Yukon, Kimberly Queen and husband Steve of OKC. He also is survived by grandchildren Ashley Lutes and husband Josh of Piedmont, Christy Jinkens and husband Kelby of Thomas, Lyndsay Bachman and husband Jordan of OKC, Kelley Queen of OKC, Jazzmen Smith of Jenks, Jordan, and Danny Smith of Tulsa, Jessica and Josh Toyebo of Jenks. He also was blessed with great grandchildren Emree and Kaliber Jinkens of Thomas and baby Lutes due to arrive in March.

He is also survived by brother Milburn Smith and wife Susan of Broken Arrow, sisters Carol Gregory and husband Tim of OKC, and Darla Terrell of Chickasha. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, one great nephew and one niece.

Gerald passed away at his home in OKC on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 after a brief battle with Cancer and was greeted by his Lord and Savior at that moment.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM, Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the Lynlee Mae Chapel located at 507 E. Main Street Moore, OK.
