Eldon "Dean" Poff, 10:00 AM, Thursday, February 16, 2017

Eldon “Dean” Poff, 84, passed away on February 12, 2017. He was born on August 17, 1932 to Raymond and Edith (Heathcoat) Poff, in Elk City, OK. 

Dean heard his country’s call and he proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked as sales broker for numerous grocery businesses. Eldon loved to fish and hunt and also rode horses in his younger days. He also enjoyed going to the casinos and playing wonder woman.

Dean was a great story teller. After retirement, he greatly enjoyed going into the “office” at Mama Lou’s, where he would drink coffee and spend time with his friends. 

Dean is survived by his 3 children, Randy Poff and wife, Janie, Cindy Griffith and husband, Dorman, and Jimmy Poff and wife, Laurel; step-daughter, Brenda Franks and husband, Jim; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 1 brother, Terry Poff and wife, Beverly; and a host of nieces, nephews, and loving family members and friends. 

 He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rosella Poff; and 3 brothers.

A Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, February 16, 2017 in the chapel of John Ireland Funeral Home, Moore, OK.

Interment to follow at Moore Cemetery. Services are under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home, Moore, OK.

Tarrel and I met Dean at the office "Mama Lou's" and enjoyed his friendship and wonderful sense of humor. We will greatly miss his stories, his smile and his jokes.
