Dollie June Canary, 2:00 P.M., Sunday, November 12, 2017


Dollie June Canary, of Moore, OK, passed away November 8, 2017, at the age of 76. She was born October 21, 1941, in Sallisaw, OK, to Claude Clifton and Minnie Elizabeth (Fite) Wiliams.

Dollie was a homemaker but she worked outside of the home in various positions. She was a member of the Rosh Pinah Messianic Jewish Congregation. Dollie loved playing the piano, and writing poetry. She also had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. Her greatest passion was not only reading her Bible, but studying it as well. She a library of multiple versions and translations of the Bible as well as study guides. Dollie was very intelligent and in addition to collecting Bibles, she also collected books, including sets of encylopedias, and reference materials, and had an extensive library that she enjoyed tremendously. She loved cooking and baking and was excellent at both. Dollie loved to help people. She was an amazing, loving and giving woman. Dollie loved to go to the nursing homes and visit people there. She would take them shopping and helped them in any way she could. Dollie also reached out to people on the street and would help them as well. Not only would she feed them, but she was very strong-willed and she would give them advice to help them turn their lives around. Dollie was a “second mom” to many. Her first love was her family. Dollie will be missed deeply by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Arlin Canary, of Wellston, OK; 2 daughters, Amber Canary-Dedmon, and Natalie Canary, both of Moore, OK; 5 grandchildren, Talyah Shooster & husband, Sam, of Denver, CO, Kaitlyn Canary, of Blanchard, OK, Caleb Canary, of Wellston, OK, and Mariah Canary, of Kingston, OK, and Rachel Dedmon, of Moore, OK.; 5 great-grandchildren, Judah and Ayelet Shooster, both of Denver, CO, Aiden and Zara Canary, both of Blanchard, OK, and Daan Bailey, of Kingston, OK; 4 brothers, Kenneth Williams, of Sallisaw, OK, Miles Williams, of Oklahoma City, Shelb Williams, of Moore, OK, and Rayburn Williams & wife, Wendy, of Sallisaw, OK; and 4 sisters, Tellie Morse, of Fort Smith, AR, Jean Chance, of Broken Arrow, OK, Alice Wagner, of Sallisaw, OK, and Bernice Lee, of Moore, OK; and a host of other loving family members and friends. Dollie is preceded in death by her parents, Claude & Minnie Williams; husband, Elmer Canary; son, Todd Canary; 4 sisters, Alpha Dowd, Geneva Hobbs, Geri Allen and Connie McGrath; and daughter-in-law, Robin Canary.

Funeral Services for Dollie will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 12, 2017, in the chapel of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home, Moore, OK. Interment to follow at Moore Cemetery, Moore OK.  Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, Moore, OK.
