Beatrice Helen "Bea" Thompson, 5:00 PM, Sunday, October 15, 2017


Beatrice Helen “Bea” Thompson, of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away September 17, 2017, at the age of 78. She was born October 28, 1938, in Meadowlands, Minnesota, to Wilho Victor & Mable Helen (Ostlund) Mottonen. Bea married the love of her live, Tom Thompson on May 8, 1964, in Duluth, Minnesota.

Tom was enlisted in the US Air Force and she enjoyed being a military wife and traveling. Bea was a very active member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Moore. Bea worked many years at OU Children’s Hospital as a medical secretary. She enjoyed reading, embroidery, cooking, sewing and quilting. Her first love was her grandkids and she was very active and involved in their lives.

Bea is survived by her husband of 53 years, Tom Thompson, of the home; 1 son, Charles Allen Thompson, of Virginia; 1 daughter, Jennifer McLaughlin, of Moore; 4 grandchildren, Faith and Gracie McLaughlin, of Moore, and Leah Howard & husband, James, of Newport News, Virginia, and Charles Thompson & wife, Amanda, of Virginia; ;5 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Norman Mottonen, of Meadowlands, Minnesota; and a host of other loving family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Wilho & Mable Mottenen.

The family will receive friends and family from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Friday, September 22, 2017, at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, located at 120 S. Broadway, in Moore, Oklahoma.

A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 PM, Sunday, October 15, 2017 at the Cornerstone Baptist Church 424 E. Main Street, Moore, Ok. Arrangements provided by the John M. Ireland Funeral Home.
