09-Feb-2012Baulty Alfred “B.A.” Dudley, born September 18, 1922, in Reagan, OK, passed from this life February 4, 2012, at the Veteran’s Center in Claremore, OK. Preceded in death by parents, B.T. & Bertie Dudley; 2 brothers, Lee & Everett Dudley; 2 sisters, C.B. McClendon & Beulah Niblett. He was a World War II Veteran having served in the U.S. Navy as Admiral Ketchum’s Aide on the U.S.S. Block Island. After returning home, he began a career in insurance sales, and earned his L.U.T.C. certificate in 1957. He and his wife Betty and a brother owned the Dudley Insurance Agency in Oklahoma City.
Mr. Dudley is survived by his wife Betty, of 62 years; a daughter, Terri & her husband Steve Huizenga, of Carrollton, TX; a son, Jess Dudley & his wife, Sherrill, of Claremore, Oklahoma; 3 grandsons, Chad Dudley, Matt Dudley & Von Huizenga; 1 granddaughter, Taylor Huizenga; several nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Mr. Dudley had an unusual talent for telling funny stories and jokes and he loved to make people laugh. He also loved music and enjoyed singing, especially gospel songs. He was a long-time member of the church and before moving to Claremore in 2010, he was a member of the Carter Park Church of Christ, Del City, OK. A special thanks for all the people at the Veteran’s Center, for their loving care and concern for our loved one.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made in B.A.’s honor to “In Search of the Lord’s Way,” PO Box 371, Edmond, OK 73083. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, February 9, 2012, at John M. Ireland Funeral Home Chapel, Moore, OK. Interment to follow at Moore Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home.
